Faculty Application: Read Before Applying!
STOP: Please read the information below before applying! This is an OOC informational thread.
Information
Vespucci University provides a robust legal presence and is currently the only LCRP university faction. We value serious roleplay and aim to give each member a realistic college experience. Our faction buildings were inspired by and modeled after their real-life Columbia University counterparts. To support our realistic approach, we have strict asset limits to give the aura of what a real-life university student would have to live through, such as living on campus or relying on public transportation. Internship opportunities with other factions will be provided. At the end of the student's educational journey, they will be given diplomas which will establish themselves in Liberty City.
Faculty and staff members will be expected to participate within the faction actively and maintain the faction's new image. Faction Leadership looks to bring in players with solid character backgrounds and an understanding of legal civilian portrayal. We care more about the quality of our roleplayers and less about numbers. This isn't just college roleplay. It's Ivy League roleplay, the best of the best!
If you're interested in applying for the faction, please do some broad research on the Ivy League University experience before applying! We're looking forward to hearing from you.

Ivy League Culture
The term Ivy League is used to refer to eight schools of elite colleges with connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and social elitism. Its members are Brown University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and Yale University.
Ivy League schools are viewed as some of the most prestigious universities in the world. All eight universities place in the top 20 universities in the world each year, several of which find themselves in the top 10. All eight Ivy League schools are members of the Association of American Universities, the most prestigious alliance of American research universities.
The Ivy League schools are highly selective, with all schools reporting acceptance rates at or below approximately 10% at all of the universities. The average weighted GPA of an accepted student at Vespucci is 4.12. That is nearly straight A’s in all of a student’s classes along with a large portion of those classes being advanced courses. Students with GPAs under a 4.12 would need extremely strong testing scores coupled with glowing recommendations and proof they are a strong candidate for Vespucci. Admitted students come from around the world, although those from the Northeastern United States make up a significant proportion of students.
Ivy League universities have some of the largest university financial endowments in the world, allowing the universities to provide abundant resources for their academic programs, financial aid, and research endeavors. Each university attracts millions of dollars in annual research funding from both the federal government and private sources.
The Ivy League is similar to other groups of universities in other countries such as, the Grande Ecoles in France, Oxbridge in the United Kingdom, and the C9 League in China.
The phrase Ivy League historically has been perceived as connected not only with academic excellence but also with social elitism. The Ivy League is often associated with the upper class community of the Northeast, Old money, or more generally, the American upper middle and upper classes. The universities provide significant financial aid to help increase the enrollment of lower income and middle class students.
Different fashion trends and styles have emerged from Ivy League campuses over time, and fashion trends such as Ivy League and preppy are styles often associated with the Ivy League and its culture.
